First Week of Term 2

Last week we were just getting back into the swing of school again after being off for the October holidays.

In Literacy, we were consolidating our learning of all the sounds we learned in term 1 – s a t p i n d e m r – and were continuing to practise blending sounds together to read and write words.

In Maths, we were learning to count to 20 and used these songs to help us learn: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MVzXKfr6e8 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aq4UAss33qA We have also been looking at patterns, in shapes and colours- trying to continue and copy a repeating pattern. Some of the boys really enjoyed completing the ‘number blocks challenge cards’ up to 20 also.

As the weather has started to turn very Autumnal, we learned all about how and where hedgehogs hibernate. We created our own cute little hedgehogs out of leaves that some of the children had been collecting. This was a fun task but the wind kept blowing our leaves and poor hedgehogs away!!

We’ve continued to have great fun whilst playing, and learning lots of different skills – including washing the dishes 🙂 and working as a team on our puzzle skills. The role play area is now our very own school, so lots of fun and learning is had there!
