World Book Day 2020
World Book Day – Thursday 5th March 2020
As you are probably aware, Thursday 5th March is World Book Day.
On that day we invite the pupils to dress up as a book/Nursery Rhyme character or bring in their favourite book to talk about. Please make sure that books are named and costumes are suitable for play times.
Throughout the day, pupils will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of exciting activities related to books, characters, authors and illustrators.
As in previous years, school children will be receive a free £1 Book Token which can be exchanged at all participating bookshops for one of the specially published £1 books or used to take £1 off of the price of a book. The redemption period of the Book Tokens is up until the 29th March 2020. To find out more about the books and to see a list of participating bookshops please visit the website at www.worldbookday.com. Having their own tokens means that children can choose their own book.
Children are never too young to start their journey with books, and the benefits of reading are enormous—so we hope, like us, you will use World Book Day to celebrate it with your child.
