Virtual visits and Space Exploration 🛰🚀

Last week we were learning about doubles and focusing on our mental maths by rolling dice and quickly answering the double. We are getting very quick at it. We have also been learning about constellations and developing our fine motor skills by feeding beads on to pipe cleaners to make our own. In our literacy we have been learning rhyming words like space and face, writing newspaper reports about going to space, and also writing our own acrostic poems. In health and well-being we spoke about what a balanced diet looks like and how would this apply if you were an astronaut in space. There was much excitement in the class when we tried some dried astronaut food!

We also had the pleasure of welcoming a virtual visitor to share with us her knowledge of the River Dee and its animals. Thank you so much to Jane from riverdee.org.uk. I’m sure the children have shared at home how a baby dragonfly breathes 😆
