Rounding to the nearest ten 🧠

We have been beginning to learn about place value in class. We have been learning how to round a two digit number to the nearest ten.

We have a special way of recalling how to do so;

1,2,3,4 round down to the ground but 5,6,7,8,9 aim high to the sky.  This has helped us recall that if the units number is 4 and less we round down to the tens number and 5 and up goes to the next tens number.

We played rounding snap and rounding connect 4 in class with a peer to practise our skills.
