Nursery Rules

This week the children in nursery have been settling back into the nursery routines & welcoming new children. They have been busy deciding upon our nursery rules. We have discussed which rules we think the nursery should have and we have made a rule book and been drawing pictures to display to everyone. We have all agreed that our nursery rules will be:

  1. To walk in nursery
  2. To listen to others
  3. To share & take turns
  4. To be kind & help others
  5. To be polite.

We use a sunshine, a rainbow & a cloud behavioral system at nursery. If you follow the rules, try & work hard to achieve something that is tricky for you then you can be moved up to the sunshine, however if a rule is broken then you will move to the grey cloud and receive a warning. If the rule breaking is continued then you move to the black cloud, in which you will then receive a time out.

Lots of positive rewards are used in nursery to encourage children to stay on the sunshine or move up to the rainbow, these include :star wall certificates, stickers and celebration assembly certificates.
