Term 3

Happy New Year everyone! I know it is sadly not the start to 2021 we had wished for however we will do our very best to make it a success! You will have now all received an email via your child’s gmail with all your child’s logins. They will need these for Monday.

We will be continuing with our Around the World topic for January, with a focus on the story ‘Handa’s Surprise’. It has been agreed at local level that we will be focusing on consolidation of learning from terms 1 and 2. This means that we will be focusing and extending learning on areas of maths and numeracy, grammar and writing. We will however continue to progress with our phonics sounds weekly. We will also undertake new learning through our topic and french. Each weeks work will be split into days, with each day having three focus activities. this is to try and make it more manageable for all. The activities are similar to our week when we are at school. Hopefully this will support routine and transition from school to home learning and vice versa. There will also be a daily register which your child will need to complete asap for attendance purposes and procedures.

In the classwork section of our classroom you will find additional folders which I have populated with extension activities should you wish to use them. These are optional.

Please rest assure that I will do my very best to support your child and you to make this work as effectively as we can. I know it is overwhelming but I am here to help. As always, if you have any questions at all or queries please do not hesitate to get in touch.
