Caterpillars into butterflies

Over the past few weeks in nursery we have been watching the butterfly life cycle live in action. We watched the caterpillars eat and eat until they could eat no more.

We then watched as the caterpillars formed a chrysalis. While we were waiting for the butterflies we enjoyed making our own caterpillars in different ways. 

After a a couple of weeks we were very excited to have butterflies in our nursery. We collected some flowers and twigs to put in the butterfly home and after a few days in nursery we released the butterflies into the school garden. We hope they like their new home.
