We are learning to play hockey…

As part of our gym this term we have been learning to play hockey. It takes a lot of hand and eye coordination which we have been developing through independent and peer working activities. We are getting really good, take a look at one of our gym sessions….

The warm up…we voted to play beans (it is a room 7 favourite) We were runner beans.

Individual dribbling practice using a bean bag around obstacles. We have been focusing on where our hands should be and how the hockey stick should be positioned.

After some practice we then moved onto partner work. This took a lot of hand and eye coordination but we did a great job remembering where to position our hands and hockey stick.

After all our hard work we had a stretch out to relax our muscles and then went into sleeping lions….
