Room 7 welcomed in a special visitor this week, Mr Sam Burton. He is a Medical Science student at the University of Aberdeen and we are very lucky to have him join us for the next eight weeks to open up the children’s eyes and minds to the world of science! The class shared their prior knowledge of science and the role of scientists. We then discussed the different skills a scientist would need and put our own questioning, investigative and problem solving skills to the test in a number of experiments.
As part of our topic, we continued our exploration of Cornhill, focusing on our own address and how to use it in different scenarios. Through role play, the children worked collaboratively to dramatise emergency scenes, asking and answering questions appropriately and clearly recalling their addresses.
